On Christmas morning we woke up somewhat late and opened presents with some kiddos. They had a blast and got oh so many toys! They loved what they got. I am posting some pictures for you to see. The train set is huge and most of it has been put away. Jorge gets to pick Benjamin toys and I am not sure who he really picked this for Benjamin or himself. We have quite a bit of video of the electric trains going round the track. hum... They played the rest of the day until nap time when Adreana and I got busy baking Sugar Cookies. I had promised her we would bake some since the beginning of winter and we finally got to it. Then we went to see our good friends Ada and Luis and spent some time catching up until Adreana saw Luis's mom eating noodles and decided she was starved. And that was our Christmas. Hope yours was awesome also!

Christmas
We decided to spend Christmas just the 4 of us. Jorge was wanting a traditional Pavo relleno the Honduran way and some rice for Christmas dinner. So we decided to have it on Christmas Eve like we used to in CA. We spent the whole day cooking. It was a good time together. Then we went to Church and then to Yukon to see some Christmas light. We got home close to 10pm and had our dinner. After dinner the kids went down and so did we. Well Jorge tried to stay up and came and woke me up at midnight to wish me a Merry Christmas but I think I just grunted... so tired! I thought I would treat you today to some pictures of us! I usually only post pictures of the kiddos but since it is Christmas...

recent layouts
I realized I had't posted any layouts recently so here are some. I am also including the last one that Adreana made - The first one you will see. Again all I did was open the files and help her move stuff around. She even typed all the "journaling" by herself! Again for the credits please go to www.mariafer.digitalscrapbookplace.com.

Christmas MDO Program
The kids had a "program" at MDO. It was the cutest thing. They sang about 3 songs all together and had little bells to ring. Benjamin's class only rang the bells and didn't really sing. They were sooo cute. I took some pictures (obviously) but cropped them for the blog so they aren't real clear or good but thought you would still like to see my little angels in their program. This is Adreana's 2nd program and Benjamin's first! They also had their Christmas Parties and enjoyed some cookies.

Manolo's visit
Well he left over a week ago but I decided to go ahead and post a pic of my brother Manolo and Adreana while he was here. She enjoyed him so much! It was great because he was only going to be here about 2 days and it takes her a few days to warm up to people so it was important that she feel comfortable around him fast. And she did. It was amazing. She was sitting up on his lap after the first night. She loved to play "where do we go" with him (he would put her on his shoulders and she had to say left or right and get them where they had to go). I am pretty sure at the end she was getting them lost on purpose, you could tell by the smirk on her face. They also loved to play wrestling and tickling with Benjamin included. There were a lot of tough calls when I thought someone was going to get hit on the head but everyone is alright after the weekend. We had so much fun and it felt so good to be able to actually see him after 5 years (can you believe it has been that long!) without seeing him. I know for those of you in Honduras it will be the same feeling when I finally get to see you.
A praise to God: Manolo left just before we got hit with the ice storm. Please pray for the tons of people without power here. Especially Marleny, Dan, Rayne and Dave as they are without power. To make matters worse they are saying we are going to get snow today and tommorrow. We are expecting anywhere from an inch to 4 inches so please pray that no more people loose power. We have been blessed to have only had two surges in the whole time the ice was on the ground. Yesterday I finally went farther than walmart and it was so sad to see beautiful trees all over the place. It looked pretty bad.
Anyway as to what has been up this week... we were stuck inside from Mon to Wed (I don't drive in ice) so I took the opportunity to catch up on laundry and finish some Christmas gifts. Almost done! I will take pictures of what we are doing this year. They are cute if I do say so myself! I am trying to get the christmas cards and letters done but still haven't gotten there... so if you don't get one this year... sorry! (I did get the ones for Honduras mailed and sent so that atleast felt good!)

Ice Storm
Well we are in the middle of an ice storm and I couldn't help but go outside and take some picks of our house. Incredibly enough since we have an unseasonably warm winter so far my gerbera's were still blooming so they made for some interesting pics. I didn't work too hard to get a good picture cause it was too cold but I think you can get the idea.

Cards for soldiers
Not great pictures to show case our hard work but I wanted to show of the cards I made to send in the soldiers care packages. I actually made a TON more but these I think are my 4 favorite. Adreana helped glue and come up with some of the other simpler designs. I have never really been into making cards but I thought this was for a good cause and actually I enjoyed myself with Adreana. I also made some hats but didn't take pics of those. Adreana really got into the spirit of this project and that was great so that was great. I didn't expect that when I signed up to do it but it has been a sweet reward to see her so motivated.
The chillin one has glitter on the bottom and on the be yourself there are some flower brads. Super cute.

As usual I forgot
I forgot I told Adreana I would post a layout she did with me. She picked the picture and the placement of EVERYTHING. I couldn't even suggest because it was her layout. She also chose the journaling and the color. Pink was definitely not my choice. But I really do like it. Soon I won't be able to use the computer cause whe will be the one scrapbooking :)! Anyway I did suggest that we add but I love him. I am also going to post some of my new layouts that I did in November since I haven't. If you want to see the credits please go to http://www.mariafer.digitalscrapbookplace.com/.
Now if you scroll down past the pictures I will share a story about my forgetfulness that might have those of you with a mean streak laughing so hard you might want to make sure the bathroom is unocupied and those that love me getting me names of some good doctors.

okay so here is the story: Last Saturday that Jorge went to see a college football game with Dave, I decided that if he was getting the night off so should I and I would order Pizza. The kids were all up for it so I found an ad and proceeded to call. I place my order and gave my name and address and after asking me where my house is the guy says sorry you are not in our delivery zone try calling this number. So I call that number and same story except they call me to tell me they transfered my order to another location. Well that location calls and asks for the cross reference roads to my house and after I give them the guys says, "I don't know why they did it this isn't the place let me try another location." By this time I am fuming. It has been close to 30 min and my kids are getting hungry and I can't figure out why they can't just send me a pizza. Not that hard is it. Well after another call to another location they decide that the second location should take my order soooo... This very polite yound man from the second location calls me and by now I am ready to cancel my order and call someone else (which of course I had to tell him!) well this nice young man makes me repeat my address and cross streets and then says "Mam, I understand, but if you live where you say you do you can't have East in your address". I am like what is this dude talking about but since I don't know East from West (literally) I tell him, "Look I know where I live but if you want me to I am going to go look at a bill and see the address on it" And lo and behold when I look at the envelope I realize I had been giving them our previous address. Yes the one where we moved from 1-1/2 yrs ago! I FORGOT my own address! I very nicely apologized and gave him the correct address and in 20 min we had a warm pizza at our door. Jorge has pointed out that they probably spit on them but they tasted pretty good to me!
how long has it been?
Been a long time since I got on. This month has been crazy! It started and ended and I didn't even notice!
In my last post I told you we were sick... well it turned out that I had an ear infection and stuff in my right lung, Jorge had a sinus infection and Benjamin who knows but was better after a couple of days. A couple of weeks after that, just when I thought we were better, Adreana coughed all night and no one slept except Benjamin who always sleeps. When I took her to the Dr it turned out she had "walking pneumonia". He told me not to worry but abuela Ruth and Tia Tete worried for me anyway. I know pneumonia doesn't sound good but he gave her antibiotics and it was done. So that puts us half was through November.
Jorge had a trip with the guys from his accountability group that same week and then that Sunday (the 18th) we went to that Cafe on Route 66 were they were inspired to write the part for Sally (?) for the Cars movie in Stroud to eat and meet Dave and Nay. Adreana left with them for a few days until Thanksgiving when we joined her. And then it is the last week of November.
This week we have been trying to play catch up and are almost there. This has been the first week this month were I feel like I am almost there... except for laundry that after our trip seems to have piled up! Jorge then had a business trip to Dallas and now I am back were I started this week... oh well.
Where did November go! One minute I was starting November with all these plans and things to do and the next I am writing on the last day of November with the same plans and nothing done! I wish I had pictures of Thanksgiving and the kids but I don't. My life has been in caos mode since the beginning of the month and I haven't even taken pictures. Well I did take Joshua's and I did take some of Adreana so why don't I post a couple. I will post more of her in a later post but for now... just these two... The first one she is trying a pose with baby that I have done in my newborn shoots and then she is showing me an m&m.

Anyway I am trying to stop complaining but this month it has been tough. So this is the last you will hear about this month! No more complaining and now to look to the good... Manolo is coming to visit next week and Adreana and I are praying for snow. Manolo is praying that is doesn't so join whichever side you would like and please don't forget to pray for a safe trip. Can't wait to see him!
