Duckie PJs
I finally downloaded the pictures from the camera and found these two and decided to share them with you. Before you say anything about Benjamin wearing girls clothes let me tell you the whole story... Adreana out grew the Duckie pjs Benjamin is wearing but she loved them so she asked if she could pass them down to Benjamin and since I thought it was sweet I said yes. Every night after that she asked me about the pjs and why he wasn't wearing them. So last Tuesday I took advantage of the fact that Jorge wasn't home when I gave them a bath and put him in her duckie pj and put her new duckie pj on her. She got so excited she couldn't stop hugging him. He was excited too but I am not sure if it was because of the pjs. She will probably ask that they wear them again after we do laundry so I am seriously thinking of cutting of the bow maybe that way they won't look girly. It is a cute picture of them though.

Busy weekend
Well we definitely had a busy weekend. On Friday the kids (including Jordan) and I headed to the zoo. We spent from 10:30 am to 2pm (way past nap time!) there. Even Jordan came home to take a nap. But we did have a wonderful time. I will update later with pictures. That evening Grandpa Dave and Grandma Nay rolled into town so we went to see them. Both kids were fast asleep by the time we got home.
On Saturday we had brunch. Adreana didn't want to eat breakfast because she heard us talking about going out to eat the day before and wanted to wait. I finally convinced her to eat atleast a cereal bar and I am glad I did because Jorge and I got busy cleaning and forgot about the time and we didn't get to the restaurant until almost 11:30. Nay and Dave beat us there... Hard to believe, but true!
Sunday we decided to go to the church where Adreana's MDO is at and when she saw where we were going she was confused so we told her that her play school had a church to which she answered "when did they get that?" Then when we got went to drop her of at the nursery we walked past her regular room so she started slowing down and when we got to the room she looked at me with her eyes real wide and said "mama, I am not sure about this." Thankfully one of her classmates mom was the teacher so we were able to get her to relax and go in. Benjamin on the other hand saw that his class had a slide and didn't look back.
The highlights of Sunday had to be the baking! Nay taught me how to do a cobbler type cake... but get this ingredient list: 1 c flour, 1 c sugar, 1 stick melted butter, 1 c fruit. We made it out of cherries and blueberries... To die for. Then the kids helped make my deditos de princesa which has the same type of ingredients: 1 c flour, 1 c powdered sugar, 1 stick butter, 1 tsp vanilla...
I lied! the highlight of MY day sunday was when Dave and Nay took Adreana with them to spend the night. They didn't bring her until today at 5pm! Benjamin and I had some good times today! But I did miss her and I am pretty sure Benjamin missed her too because in the morning and after his nap he looked for her.
Oh, one other thing... Our neighbors gave us a small slide for the backyard for Benjamin but papa kept it inside these last couple of days. What is it with boys. Benjamin has learned to push himself with his arms and his bottom barely touches the slide at the beginning. We have also caught him climbing up, going down face first and WALKING down it. Now you tell me what is in the head of this child that he thinks he can get away with any of this and what else is there to try on this slide so that I can be prepared!
I hope to try and put some pics of the baking and zoo tomorrow...

Water Park!!!
Jorge surprised me by picking up Adreana from MDO yesterday. Unfortunately by the time he called to let me know I had already woken Jordan (our neighbor) and Benjamin up from nap time. Jordan is 9 so she handled it pretty well but Benjamin was NOT happy. But Jorge made it up to him by letting him go outside and play in the sidewalk while he watered. But he didn't stop there. He invited all of us to our local water park to play.
Everyone had fun! Benjam in went down the kiddy slide over and over again. So many times in fact that I took Adreana to ride the dragon, went to the lazy river, waited for Jordan to jump of the trampouline and when we got back, Jorge was still watching Benjamin g0 down the slide. Benjamin also made tons of new friends. I forget how social he is. He even went to sit on the lap of a lady that was watching her kids swim close by. Thankfully she liked kids and didn't mind it at all.
Adreana loved the dragon. An oversized floating dragon that is. She would get on it and then slide down and have me catch her. She also loved to pretend to swim in the lazy river. She just loved the water.
So where are the pictures? I didn't even take my camera since I knew Jorge and I would have to divide and conquer to survive this. But I do have another picture of Benjamin playing in the backyard yesterday... he is a cutie so I don't think you will mind...

I promised you pictures...
Well I did promise you pictures and I hadn't taken any or had the time to upload but here you go. Some of today and some of a few days ago...
This one is today while we played outside with bubbles and a sprinkler.

These next four are from Monday when the kids got to play for the first time with the chalk toy abuela Ruth got them and then played in the sprinkler with the umbrellas while papa watered the grass... as you can see Benjamin doesn't quite get how to use an umbrella so he got soaked. Also please notice the Benjamin's shoes... his crocs...

Happenings with Abuela Ruth
I haven't had a lot of time to update the blog while my mom has been visiting (too much shopping) so I thought I would make one entry with some of the things the kids have done and said while she was here...
* Benjamin went POTTY for the first time yesterday July 16, 2008!!! Can you believe it? He is definitely a big boy. Don't get so excited though I am far from done with diapers. We have started sitting him on the potty so he starts getting a feel of it and after I did he pied. Was it done with purpose or just a plain accident I will never know but we celebrated anyway!!!
* Adreana is going to sleep on her big girl bed tonight for the first time. We bought it yesterday and Jorge went to pick it up and assembled it this morning while she was away at Mother's Day Out. I have to tell you about my conversation with her this morning. Upon entering her room to get her ready, she waved her hand toward her toddler bed and said "mama, look at my bed". I immediately went to check to see if her bed was wet but when it wasn't, I said "Yes, we need to make her bed" To which she responded "Mama look at my bed it hasn't changed." By now I was perplexed so while I made it I said "Do you need me to change the sheets" (while looking for wet spots) She immediately said "no mama, look at it, it hasn't changed, it isn't my big girl bed!" So as you imagine she was pleasantly surprised when she got back from school and found a big girl bed in her room!
*My mom used to call me honey bun when I was younger and for some reason decided to try and use this name with my daughter. Unfortunately for her my daughter did not like it one bit. She immediately responded "I am not honey, bears are honey." Although I have to say that it must have worn on her because by tonight she was calling Benjamin honey.
* Abuela Ruth bought the kids real crocs and not just any crocs but the disney crocs with mickey mouse's instead of holes. Benjamin loves his so much he wears them all day. The first day he had them he would look at the holes and say mouse over and over again. Benjamin got yellow and Adreana got green (her favorite color). I must say he is now taking his nap with them on!
*Adreana has decided that her papa is the best papa in the whole wide world. Make sure you get that it is the whole wide world because she won't let you leave it out.
