Valentine's Tea Party 2

We decided to do a repeat to our Valentine's Tea Party from last year (which I didn't blog about...) but this year I promised my aunt that I would post some pictures for her to see. I was also lucky enough to have my mom lend a hand at this one which helped me tons. So 6 little girls sat down for tea and hopefully felt like princess and had fun.

Here are the details...

The Menu (picked by Adreana):
Chocolate covered strawberries
cheese cubes
ham cubes
crackers
grapes
blueberries
heart shaped oreo cakesters
pink lemonade

I didn't get very many pictures because I well forgot to take pics before the party and then it was a bit of fun, controlled, chaos... but here is what I did get:

My princess after her party.

And this little cutie who when she sat down announced to all of us that she was a princess and she sure looked the part
And the food!!!
Another look at the table...
And the girls brought valentin's to share.

I decorated some mailboxes from target for each of the girls. This one is Adreana's and it is the only one I got pictures of because like I said I forgot to take pictures. They were all adorable though (if I say so myself!)

Another one of my princess.

And one of my boy wearing one of the candy necklaces after the party (He wasn't invited...). I had to post this picture because he reminds me so much of my older brother. I am trying to figure out why but he just does... plus I needed to include him somehow :)!

Baking.

Since my mom's been here we have been baking! and real baking too. With yeast! Yesterday we made a recipe from Taste of home... called jewish bread... I am liking it. So relaxing, so fun, and so yummy.

I don't know how to braid bread that well. But I guess I just need to keep practicing :)

We also made some white bread loaf to take to Marleny as a treat for after baby but we forgot it at home. So we ate it... Bread doesn't last that long you know... And I didn't take a pic of it but it was yummy too...

Oh and yesterday I said we got the freezing rain and ice... these were hanging from our house. Today my kids took them out of everything: mailboxes, cars...

More Snow?!

We got more snow today... All week they have been warning us of this winter storm. Mostly ice they said and some snow for Friday. But we got a little bit of ice yesterday and it snowed all day today.

We braved the cold including my mom and went outside to play. The pics are all from my garage so they aren't the best but I didn't want to take the camera outside.

My favorite photo of the day. Ain't he cute... hope he caught one...

She is kind of cute too... :)

We also got all sorts of visitors in our back yard. Take a look (consider I still didn't want to get my camera wet plus the trees our in our neighbors yard):

This little guy looked much better in real life... a spark of color admist the white.

This guy was there most of the day. I wanted so badly to find a wamer place for him.

And look at him. He was beautiful!

Okay and this isn't a visitor but it looked so beautiful I couldn't help myself...

I really couldn't.

Now to decide if we can still have our vday tea party... maybe we will sleep on it! tough decisions :)!

Catching up and an accomplishment

I know I have posted A TON today but I wanted to catch up on the blog and keep some thoughts for posterity plus most of my readers (4!) want to know what my parents were up to while here. So the 2 others I apologize :)!

The accomplishment is that we are now HALF WAY through our school year!!! And to mark the occasion here is my little girl with half of her math curriculum completely done. She has worked so hard this year and I am sooo proud of her...

Dallas Aquarium

While my parents were here we decided to take a quick trip to Dallas. Though we mostly did shopping the highlight of our trip was going to the Dallas World Aquarium...

The day we went to the aquarium was super cold. A below zero type of day but they keep the aquarium at rainforest temperatures so when I went to take pictures my camera fogged up so bad that I was only able to get pictures of the second half of our adventure. If you have never been there and are close by you really need to go. It was amazing!!!

DSP HALL OF FAME

I have been at DSP for a long while and just this week I made it into their hall of fame (designers pick their fave layouts and name you HOF! so it is a very special treat for me!) but anyway I finally got in and thought I would show you my layout:

One more thing for the new year

So I didn't want to add this to my last post because I felt it needed a post of its own... On new years day we also went BOWLING! For many of us for the very first time: My parents and the kids. I got my HIGHEST score ever!!! Mostly because we all used bumpers but it was still my highest score... but most importantly we really did have fun. We didn't plan this so I only had my little camera purse and the bowling alley is dark but I got enough to capture our memories.

I got a picture of the score for our second game but let me tell you that for the first one I WON! I beat Jorge and my dad! Woohoo! It is the first time I ever win at bowling!!! (Did I mention we used bumpers?) and Benjamin got second in his group! I think that it is worth mentioning. Too bad I didn't take pictures of the proof.

A new year

Please accept a belated HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! My parents came to visit and I have been a bad blogger but I don't want to forget what a great time we had on new year's eve and new years day!!! So here goes... BTW this is going to be a long post cause we really did have fun!!!

For new year's eve we made a big turkey dinner. We had steak's for Christmas dinner so for New Year's we went traditional... Honduran traditional I mean. Turkey and stuffing and rice and salad. Yum...

A perfectly cooked turkey
Relleno - stuffing.
Our Tulsa "grandparents" also came to visit and brought this with them as a late Christmas gift for the kiddos... so much fun! (after this we stayed up late playing the Wii... bowling as a matter of fact! So much fun!!!)
We woke up late for new years and then went outside to play... Look at these:

Rayne rolling down the hill...
Some snuggles after little girl got hit in the face with a snowball.
Abuelo Leon posing in the snow! This trip marked the first time he saw snow... snow much fun!
And then Dave played some basesnowball.
And of course Benjamin had to get in the action.
He got it...
And it was a home run!! Go baby boy, Go!!!
Our front door neighbor built a fort out of the snow and my dad thought it was great.
