T-ball Season

This year Benjamin played T-ball! He loved it. I wasn't so sure since there are many wait times in the game but he did great. He was ready to go as soon as he heard Baseball. He never admitted he played T-ball, according to him he played baseball. It was fun to watch him play a sport. He really got the hang of hitting the ball this season. We are still working on catching.

A funny story about his last game. In T-ball 3&4s they run the ball to the base. They don't throw. The parents also "play" in the field with them (I think it is to make sure no one gets bonked on the head). Anyway at his last game on Monday I was out in the pitcher's mound with him for the last inning (they play up to 50 minutes and then the game is called, so usually 3 innings - the inning has a maximum of 7 runs), by the last inning my son has lost most of his concentration and interest but he really wanted to be at the pitcher's mound because most of the balls come there. Anyway he had missed a couple, grabbed one and run to first but now the bases are full and I say "Benjamin with the next one, you have to go to home." He turns to me and says "Really mama! We get to go home!". I guess we need to teach him more than just catching.
He did get the next ball and he did run towards home base but instead of touching it and getting the runner out he stood next to it and had a good talk with the umpire. Everyone from both teams were laughing. He redeemed himself by touching the base and getting an out. Lots of fun!

New Haircut

On Wednesday, Adreana and I got a haircut! She let Kelle straighten her hair after they cut it. We were laughing with Jorge that night because her hair looked longer than what I took her in with. She looked beautiful... Check it out for yourselves:

I love how her hair looked all straight. By the morning it was gone though!

Not a shot of her hair but couldn't help posting. She is so cute :)!

Adreana's gifts

I took pictures of Adreana with her gifts from Tia tete (and tio Nery) and Abuela Ruth (and Abuelo Leon) since I buy them for them and this is the only way they get to see them. She actually picked them out herself so of course she loves them.

Gracias por querer tanto a nuestra chiquitina tia y mama! Las extraño!

I thought it would only be fitting to get books from Tia Tete (she is a librarian for those of you that don't know her). Her favorite books, from her favorite author: Mo Willems.

And from abuela ruth a Barbie with a doggie and a Tiniest Tyniest Pet Shop play set. She loves her tiniest most of all.

Thanks again!

Adreana's Birthday

I never posted anything about Adreana turning 6! I am still marveling at how time passes by. She is beautiful inside and out and I am so proud of her.

Here are six things she enjoys at six:
1. CHEESE.... She has always and I think always will love cheese!
2. Soccer... Still going strong
3. Swimming... She is a star/fish ray but will be a guppy pretty soon since she has to move up and be with the older kids. This week on Tuesday she finally touched the bottom of the pool and is ecstatic!
4. Mo Willems... Her favorite author. I think she likes his sense of humor, she loves the piggie and elephant series.
5. Singing and dancing... She made it into the church christmas program!
6. Littlest Pet Shops... might be her favorite toy at the moment.

We had her birthday party at Build-a-Bear. She had a ton of friends and a great time and everyone walked away with a new friend. Here are some pictures:

We had a cookie cake from Mrs. Fields. Yum!

Here she is with Teddy (that is what she named her doll - Benjamin picked Freddy) at the end of her party.

All her friends at her party.

Playing games

Birthday girl!

Build-a-Bear gave her a signature bear that all her friends signed for her.

My beautiful girl right before we sang happy birthday without candles because I forgot them at home.

Teeth number two... gone

On thursday October 15, 2009 Adreana lost her second tooth. It is her front bottom tooth and although her first tooth is already coming out she looks pretty adorable! Click on the picture to see it closer!

Story of her second fallen tooth: We went to swim class as normal. Took a shower at the Y as normal. Got dressed at the Y as normal and when I was about to do her hair, NO TOOTH. So where did it fall out? Your guess is as good as mine. I think it is either at the bottom of the Y pool or it is in her tummy. Either way she has one less baby tooth! All to show she is really growing up fast!

No more training wheels for Adreana!

At the beginning of summer Adreana told me that what she wanted to get for her Birthday was to ride a bike without training wheels. I talked to Jorge about it and the wheels came of in August but we really hadn't had a chance to take her out to try but a couple of times.

Last week at a birthday party, a friend told me to get her a scooter for Christmas and that when she learned to balance on it she would get the bike pretty fast. I came home and told Jorge but he didn't wait till Christmas for the scooter he got it right away.

This weekend after having the scooter for about 3 days Jorge decided to let her have a go at the bike and in about half an hour she was doing it all by herself. A few days late but at 6 she is riding her bike! She is pretty excited but I think the scooter still has her more excited...

Here are some pictures (I am so glad my daughter learned to ride her bike early! After my own experience of learning at 26!!!)

On her new pink scooter.

Papi helping her figure it out.

Here she goes. A bit woobly but riding all the same.

She got more confident the more she rode!
