Pictures from Honduras... Volume 1

The kids and I have been in Honduras for 4 days now! It has been interesting and fun. The kids are being so good and loving on their grandparents which is a blessing to see and so far we are all healthy! Thank you for your prayers!

Jorge has been asking for a post to see what we have been up to but I have not been taking pictures just enjoying my family. I will get better though as I want to leave with TONS of pictures. So in a capsule what we have been up to:

On Monday my cousin Gaby met us at the airport with my parents then we made it home and relaxed. On Tuesday we went to see one of the new malls and get a coffee with my dad (kids got brownies and ruined their lunch according to my mom) and then that night my family (brother and Tia Tete) came over for dinner. It was great to see the kids after so much time. On Wednesday was errand day. Kids took a nap in the car and we got our hair cut. Today we spent most of the day at my parents playing since Paulina let us borrow some toys. We also got ready for our trip tomorrow to the beach! Yippee!!!

So like I said I haven´t gotten too many pictures but here are a few. I am loving the fruit here by the way and my parents garden is spectacular.

A rose from my parents garden.

After our haircuts...Despite the picture she does like it. She was just concentrating on taking the picture since we used the remote.

Chupando Naranjas... This is Benjamin eating an orange. (well one of 3 halves!)

Among other trees my parents have a banana tree in their backyard. Here is one that will soon be giving some fruit.

UP, UP AND AWAY!!!

I believe that by the time I finish this post Maria may already be at the Houston International Airport and well on her way to Honduras. Last night we put the kids to bed at 7:30 anticipating a rude awakening. Although I struggled to get up round 4AM, the kids seemed to do just fine (Praise God!!!) We made it to the airport with plenty of time and God blessed with a great attendant at the airport counter. She even offered to give me a pass so I could go with the rest of the familly all the way to the gate (past security) and made arrangements so Maria could get one of those carts to take her between connecting flights in Houston. Everything was going really well until Benjamin had to make it past security. I am still not sure what bothered him the most -- the surrendering of his backpack with toys for X-rays, taking of his jacket or walking bare foot while his shoes stayed behind on a basket. Whichever it was, he survived and was back to his normal self after a few minutes. The kids got exited once the plane was in sight... After a very short wait at the gate it was time to say goddbye to everyone (almost). For Maria's sanity I elected not to say bye to Benjamin as I felt he could have a bit of a melt down; hard to tell with Benjamin sometimes. I waited to hear from Maria from the plane but she must have had her hands full and never called or turned her cellphone on :( I am sure I will hear from her shortly and will post an update...

FAMILY TRADITIONS CONTINUED...
Getting to work at 6 AM seemed a bit to early but I did not want to go all the way back home so I continued a "family tradition" of going to breakfast after we drop someone off at the airport...

February 9 on the 9th

Continuing with my project... I did my 9 on the 9th layout. (I haven't completed my Project 365 for this past week but hope to get both of them done before my trip! hopefully!)

Remember you can click on them if you want to take a closer look.

On another note I thought I would record a bit about the past tornadoes in the area. Again a little too close for comfort... this time just a block away. One of the house in our neighborhood has a huge hole in the roof. Very interesting. For the first time ever I heard the train sound that is referred to with tornadoes but God kept us safe and I pray he continues to do so. Please join us in thanking him for our safety and in praying for the families in the area that did get affected.
