Benjamin is sick

Benjamin has been sick today. After I picked him up from MDO yesterday, his teacher told me that he wasn't acting like himself. That he just seemed tired. I didn't think much of it because I really did think he was tired. Wednesday he didn't go to bed till late. But by last night he had a little bit of a fever and then this morning his fever was up. He didn't want to do anything but be held by me. He didn't want to eat either. Considering today was Friday, we decided to take him to the doctor.
They checked him for strep and it was decided that he had a viral infection. My poor little guy spent the whole day just lying around and having me carry him. It wasn't until this afternoon that his fever broke and he started acting more like himself.
It is so out of character to see him sitting around that I took some pictures of him. I have some pictures of Adreana when she was like 9 months old when she got a fever and looked so sweet I decided I needed some of him to.

Also one of Adreana playing in her pjs with Challenge (that is her name for the baby doll - I think in honor of the Food network challenges). I thought it was awfully cute of her. She wants you all to know that today after playing with her babies, she watched Little Bill on tv (she really did tell me to put this here).

Adreana Swimming

Well as I offered here are the better pictures of Adreana swimming taken by Jorge...

She sure has fun doesn't she. I just love that precious smile. It is the same smile she played soccer with. Jorge and I were talking about that the other day. How much she enjoys things. It makes us enjoy it the more when I see her smile like this.

This week

Well it has been a while since I wrote and I have no pictures - I took some today but haven't downloaded them since I used our small sony camera and it ran out of battery. Anyway it has been a hectic week but I don't mind hectic so it has been okay.

Adreana finished her first Pike Class today. She doesn't get to move to Pike2 yet because she hasn't finished learning to do some of the requirements but the teacher said she was happy with the progress and so are we. Adreana still needs to be able to put her face underwater and swim using her arms more. I didn't get to talk to the teacher because Jorge's car wouldn't start and he took the van and forgot to leave the car seat so Angie was only able to take Adreana as I only have one extra seat in Jorge's car so I had to stay with Benjamin. (BTW Angie is our neighbor). Anyway Adreana was real happy when she got home but I think she was pooped cause as I write she is sleeping on the couch.

Benjamin enjoyed time with mom this afternoon and is doing well at MDO still. He is one of the few that don't go into the room crying so I bet that makes his teachers happy. Yesterday before we left he kept going school yeah. So cute.

I am currently doing two Bible studies (one is more of a mentoring class) but anyway in the mentoring class we are going over God's names and I am enjoying it so much. It is great to have a reminder of who he is and who he has been in my life. We finished El Shaddai - God as more than enough, sufficient and nourisher - and man has it been good to remember that He is more than enough right now with the car thing.

On a praise report, Ashley (my first client here in Edmond) upgraded her sitting to include copyrights and newborn pictures. That means I am guaranteed a second sitting and I am oh so happy to know that I will get to see her baby once she is here. That is one of the parts that I am enjoying of the maternity/newborn pictures that I get to see miracles of God every time I take them. How blessed am I! Please pray for more clients!

On another note I decided to join the DSP Scrap Pink event. I was touched by someone's testimony on the website and decided it was something good so I will be doing some women in my life layouts coming soon. I can't wait there are so many great women that have impacted me so just wait and see what I am up to.

And before I shut up :)... one cute story about Adreana. We didn't get back from Tulsa on Friday until 1am and the kids didn't go to sleep (in the car) until 11pm so Saturday was a little funky in our house. Well anyway Adreana fell asleep in the floor of our room playing (sorry no pictures). I moved her to our bed and then about an hour later we all went to wake her up. She didn't want to wake up at all so Jorge started talking to her. She opened her eyes and said "papa, I can't sleep with all this talking" and closed her eyes again! I am pretty sure Jorge will be using that with her pretty soon...

Final Round DET

Well I uploaded my layouts for the final round of DET. I had a mishap when uploading and ended up with the wrong one on the wrong gallery but I decided to let all of you see the one that should have been uploaded! I am also showing you the ones that I decided not to upload cause they are still oh so cute and one of Benjamin that I just finished because it only seemed fair! :) - by the way the reason there are two using the same pictures is because that was part of the rules... go figure...

I am working on Adreana's Bday invitations and will post a picture as soon as I finish. They are so cute! and I get to use my new cuttlebug die cut machine so that makes it so much funner to do.

We are all needing sleep because we went to Dave and Nay's yesterday and came back at 1am. We went for yet another came but atleast this one was college and not highschool. We didn't actually go but Jorge wanted to watch it on TV with Dave so crazy me said... why don't we all go, so we did! The truth is we had fun and the kids love going... I told Benjamin when we were getting ready to head back that we needed to go and he got up got closer to Nay and said... "I don't want go". He is talking so much more now that anything he says is funny, especially since by the time we came home anytime he talked he cried! Poor baby boy was tired!

Benjamin and play school

Well I forgot to add yesterday that when I picked Benjamin at MDO the teacher only had good reports! About time!!! I also asked at his sunday school teacher at church (he is in our sunday school class) how he was doing there and he said he was a boy. Oh boy! He said Benjamin is real high energy and that he will take toys away from the girls. But yesterday he did good! Praise God.

Also he is starting to say complete sentences and it is way fun! Today we were all snuggling in bed in the morning and Adreana turned to him and said "Benjamin" and he turned his head around looked at her and said "what?". Oh so cute. I know that isn't a complete sentence but he was holding a conversation. Also yesterday after I picked him up from school and were on our way to get Adreana, he kept yelling "Nana, Where are you?". It is so much fun to try and hold a conversation with him and know he is getting so much of what you are saying and have him respond. He also wants to repeat everything you say - so now to watch EVERYTHING we say!

First shoot done...

Well my first paid photo shoot in Edmond is done and ready to be printed! Thank you for your prayers I really did feel at peace the day of the shoot and I think I like the results. I learned a lot also about this new venture that I am taking so keep praying that all goes well...
Anyway here are some pictures:

Not much has been happening around here. I have been editing pictures and buying costumes and being busy with bible studies, swim class, etc. Fall is here and the mayhem has begun but I like this busyness a lot more than the unscheduled life of summer so it is good for me. I was called today by the lady in charge of communication for the women's retreat at church to see if I could help. Please pray that I know if I should take this on or not. This is part of what I really enjoyed doing at Liberty but I am doing other things now so I don't know if it will be more than I can chew. I was just praying today though that God bring about service that I really enjoy so this might be it.

DET layouts

I know that I have already posted twice today but I couldn't help but come back and show you my latest DET layout (yes I did make it to round 2 but with the awesome layouts this time around I am not holding my breathe on making it any further :)!) Anyway the first one is the one I actually entered and the other two where my other options. My mom's fave is the second but I ended up posting Jorge's fave... oh well. Thanks mom for you input! Oh and by the way I already had this kit so I didn't even get a free kit but I did get free wordart that I really do like! :)

Swimming

Well Adreana has been doing really well in swim class, plus she is loving it. Today as we left "play school" her teacher said see you Tuesday and she replied "Well I don't know I think I might have swim class". So anyway enjoy these pictures. They are not very good because I was holding Benjamin with one hand and trying to take these with the other...

Check out that smile! That is how she is during the whole class. It is such a pleasure to watch her having so much fine. Now Benjamin wasn't having so much fun. He has to be 3 to join in the fun and he isn't quite agreeing so now he gets a lollipop every time to keep him busy and as an incentive to behave for the whole time. This last class he even played with the toys I took so I think he is getting the point.

Speaking about Benjamin he went to the Dr on Monday because of a persistent cough he has had. The Dr is still not diagnosing Asthma (they don't do that until he is 3 or 4) but he did talk about it again and sent us home with an inhaler again. We had to do this last year around this time. He says we will have to go on Flovent again if he doesn't get any better, so please pray that he gets better. He was weighing 27 lbs. And as long as you are praying for him please pray that he will start behaving. At "play school" they are complaining that he doesn't share and then doesn't listen when he is being corrected. We get some of it at home but apparently not as much as he is doing at school. The teacher told me that he is under the impression that every toy within a five foot radius of him is his so it is causing some problems. Jorge and I will be working on him this weekend so PLEASE keep us in your prayers.

I also started a Bible study this monday and am much enjoying it! It is called "Choosing Change" and it is proving to be very good. More on it later.

Joshua - 1 month

Well I know I haven't updated in a while but I will soon... but I didn't want to wait much longer before I updated with the pictures from the photo shoot I had with Joshua this Saturday... He really didn't turn a month till Tuesday but I had to go on Saturday for Lacey's wedding so we decided to have his one month shoot... I really like them, but what isn't to like he is so precious... Dan and Marleny hope you like them also...

MDO started

I haven't posted in a long time but this has been one busy week! We had an ok not very eventful labor day weekend. Jorge worked outside on moving some sprinklers so maybe it just wasn't eventful for me.

This week though Mother's Day Out started and I am so lucky to be able to have both of them go both days! So I am one happy mom although this week I had to do lost of STUFF so I didn't get to enjoy and relax on either day. But the kids loved it. They actually cried on the way home on the first day because they wanted to stay. I keep asking them if they miss me but neither one of them do. Adreana also started swim class on Wednesday. I forgot my camera for that monumental event but I promise not to today. She loved it and smiled the whole time she was in class. We get to go today and she can't wait. Benjamin hated swim class... mostly because he isn't in it. He can't go until he is 3 so he was dying to get in the pool which made me not like swim class very much. Benjamin took of his shoes and his shirt in an effort to convince me to let him in the water... so much for being able to watch adreana. Wednesday I took toys to try and keep him busy but today I am bringing out the big guns... FOOD. If that doesn't keep him entertained then I am in trouble and by the end of the month I will have very strong arms from battling him.

Also this week we took Benjamin to an orthopedic doctor to see his cleft feet (they turn in some) and heard what tons of parents have heard that there is nothing to do but wait since it isn't severe enought to warrant surgery. It didn't feel good but God is working in my heart and letting me know that he is in control and all I have to do is wait... Not the easiest think for me to do but I am learning fast that because I am not good at it God likes for me to practice. So I am waiting and trusting and we shall see.

Today we head back to marleny's to get some 1 month old baby shots again for my portfolio so watch out for new pictures soon. We are also going because Jorge had to go to the highschool game. He is going with Dave and they are all excited about it... I just keep thinking it is highschool and he never went there... but it is football!
I am also pleased to announce that I have my first client! Thanks to Angie for setting it up. I think I will be taking pics next week. I am so excited and nervous so please keep me in your prayers.

And then lastly I entered the Digital Elite Team contest at DSP... I had said I wouldn't again after last year but they offered a free kit and I just couldn't help myself. The first round has been judged and I got through to the second round (100 entered 52 went through) so that means another free kit. The pressure I submit myself for free kits is unbelievable but I love it.. so here is my DET entry (oh and some pictures of Adreana and Benjamin on their first day of school) Again if you want all the credits for the layout please go to: http://www.mariafer.digitalscrapbookplace.com/.

Layout Mono

Well after talking to my mom today I realized I never uploaded the layout with where mono came from so I will do so tonight. I am also adding a layout with pictures from last year when Adreana was playing school with her babies and about the time when she stopped taking naps for me. As you can see I am pretty behind in my scrapbook... and keep getting farther behind! Anyway here they are... Click on the layouts to be able to read them.

All of the kits were bought at http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/ and for all the credits please go to http://www.mariafer.digitalscrapbookplace.com/.
